Question:

164 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Education when the work on Bun Scoil Mhuire, Youghal, County Cork and Scoil Choráin, Youghal, County Cork, will commence. [18098/96]

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 162, 163 and 164 together.

The Chief State Solicitor is currently awaiting clarification from the vendor's solicitor on an aspect of the contract. When this is provided, I expect to be in a position to finalise the purchase of the CBS property.

My Department has recently invited tenders for the proposed refurbishment works at Bun Scoil Mhuire and Scoil Choráin. When the tender documents are returned and examined, my Department will appoint a contractor to complete the works. A commencement date will then be agreed with the contractor and the school. The board of management of Scoil Choráin has been advised of the proposed refurbishment at the school.
