168 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Justice the number of transport companies invited to tender for the provision of transport services during EU ministerial visits and meetings; the name of each company; whether bus, taxi, hackney or limousine service companies were employed to provide such services, which did not have to go through a tender procedure; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [17984/96]

The number of transport companies invited to tender for the provision of transport services during EU ministerial visits and meetings was four. The four companies were as follows:

Bus Éireann;

Murray's Chauffeur Drive Ltd.;

Hynes Chaffeur Drive;

ECL Chauffer Drive.

ECL did not come back with a price.

Bus Éireann and Murray's Chauffeur Drive Ltd. were employed to provide the service.
