99 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction a project (details supplied) in County Galway; if so, when; the amount of money to be allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18961/96]

My Department has requested Galway County Council to submit results of chemical and bacteriological tests on the lake source. When this information is received, the group's proposal to provide water treatment facilities will be further examined.
