Vol. 470 No. 4

Written Answers. - State Companies.

Bertie Ahern

Question:

122 Mr. B. Ahern asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the State companies, if any, under the aegis of his Department; the number employed in each such company; and the amount of the State investment in and annual subvention to each, where applicable. [19338/96]

There are no semi-State companies operating under the aegis of my Department. The Employment Equality Agency and the Legal Aid Board are not incorporated under the Companies Acts.

The present approved staffing level of the Employment Equality Agency is 13 posts and the approved subvention to the agency for 1996 is £750,000.

The approved staffing level of the Legal Aid Board is 224 posts and there is a provision of £6.5 million as grant-in-aid to the Legal Aid Board contained in my Department's Estimate in 1996.
