121 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the amount paid by his Department in relation to publicity and public relations in each of the years from 1994 to date in 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19178/96]

In the period from 1994 to date in 1996 my Department expended a total £20,044 on publicity in relation to Action for Equality Awards, £12,053 in 1994 and £7,991 in 1995.

Information leaflets on the domestic violence and enduring powers of attorney Acts were produced in 1996 at a cost of £3,831.

A publicity campaign in the national media and the development of an information pack to maximise awareness of the EU 4th Action Programme on Equal Opportunities between Women and Men, cost £7,271 in 1996.

Expenditure to date on the Divorce Referendum Campaign is £496,000 of which £485,000 was expended in 1995. A breakdown of expenditure in relation to the Divorce Referendum in the period to 31 May 1996 was included in my reply to questions in this House on Thursday 11 June 1996 — column 1549 of Official Report.
