Vol. 470 No. 4

Written Answers. - Investigation of Complaint.

Mary Harney

Question:

216 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Justice the reason a family (details supplied) in Dublin 14 cannot exit from its home on a daily basis, in spite of contacting her Department, the Garda Commissioner, the local superintendent and South Dublin County Council; if she will advise the relevant people in charge to undertake the necessary proceedings in order that the family no longer faces this frustrating problem; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19025/96]

I have referred all correspondence concerning this matter to the Garda authorities who have informed me that the complaint was fully investigated by them on a number of occasions and that measures deemed appropriate in the circumstances were taken to deal with the situation. Numerous contacts have been made with the person in question over the last two years or so.
