Vol. 470 No. 8

Written Answers. - Care of Child.

Tom Kitt

Question:

71 Mr. T. Kitt asked the Minister for Health the type of care and accommodation which will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 16 who had been fostered by a family in Ballinteer, Dublin 16 for the past seven months. [20106/96]

The child in question was received into the care of the Eastern Health Board in 1988. He was placed in residential care, and subsequently, in two foster placements, the second of which broke down recently. The child is currently being cared for in an emergency unit run by the Eastern Health Board, pending his admission to a residential unit under the child psychiatric services. Following an assessment, a long-term care plan will be made.
