The three posts in question are blocked because there are a number of ex-principals and vice-principals in receipt of allowances on a personal basis serving in the school.
My Department has put proposals to the school management bodies and the teacher unions at second level in relation to staffing matters arising from the amalgamation of second level schools to form community schools, including the question of the filling of posts of responsibility. My Department proposes to convene a meeting of all the parties concerned shortly with a view to arriving at an agreement on these matters. The position of Cashel community school will be considered as part of this process.
