Pending a decision from the European Commission on the application for assistance for the Donegal bay waste water management scheme, and having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve this proposal.

Question:110 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for the Environment if funding will be made available in the near future for the proposed Ballyshannon water scheme, County Donegal. [22971/96]
Contract documents for the Ballyshannon water supply scheme have been submitted to my Department. However, given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance the scheme.
