Vol. 472 No. 5

Written Answers. - Pay of Semi-State Executives.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

37 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Finance whether the report in relation to the pay of semi-State executives has been brought to Government; if so, the plans, if any, he has to publish the report; the cost of producing the report; and the action, if any, planned in this regard. [23621/96]

I can confirm that I have made a report to the Government on the outcome of the review of the remuneration arrangements of the chief executives of the State bodies. Also a request by the Joint Committee on State-sponsored Bodies that they be informed of the outcome of the review has been brought to the Government's attention.

The Government has yet to take a decision on the report and the Committee's request. I would expect that they will do so fairly soon.

There was no additional direct cost involved in producing the report which was compiled by my Department with the Co-operation of other Departments and the various State bodies.
