67 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education the current position in relation to an application for an extension to Scoil Colmcille, Culkeeny, Malin; the estimated time-scale for the approval of this extension in view of the fact that the school is currently experiencing severe overcrowding; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The current position is that the contract documentation is being finalised.

A decision on the timing of the tender and contract process will be taken in the light of existing contractual commitments for 1997 and the funding which will be available in 1997. At present, I am not in a position to give a timescale for approving the project.
