32 Mr. M. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance the terms of reference of the recently established National Lottery Interdepartmental Committee; the proposed completion date of the work programme of the committee; if the findings of the report will immediately be made public; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As announced, it is intended that the interdepartmental committee will review the arrangements for the administration of national lottery grants and recommend such improvements as it considers necessary with a view to ensuring maximum transparency in the procedures for processing national lottery grant applications and the allocation of the lottery surplus.
It is envisaged that the committee will report within three months.
No decisions have been taken at this stage in relation to publication of the committee's report.
