75 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Health the cost of the Irish Presidency to his Department. [25142/96]

Limerick East): The cost to my Department of Ireland's Presidency of the EU is estimated at £400,000. This includes the support of a senior officer of the Department in the Permanent Representation in Brussels, the contribution to the cost of the Colloquium and the EU Presidential Meeting on Blood Safety and Self Sufficiency in September 1996 and the Conference on Alzheimer's Disease in November 1996. It also includes the cost of additional travel within and outside Europe to fulfil obligations deriving from the Presidency.
