The statutory agencies operating under the aegis of my Department are the Combat Poverty Agency, the Pensions Board and the National Social Service Board.

Of the 13 current members of the Combat Poverty Agency, seven — or 54 per cent — are women. The current term of office of the board expires in December 1998.
In relation to the Pensions Board, the following persons were appointed by me on 5 July 1996: Mr. Alan Broxson, Ms Caroline Jenkinson, Ms Maria Kinlan.
Of the 15 current members of the board, seven — or 46 per cent — are women. The current term of office of the board expires on 20 December 2000.
In the case of the National Social Service Board, no appointments were made by me in the past year. Of the 15 current members of the board, eight — or 53 per cent — are women. The current term of office of the board expires on 31 August 1998.
