138 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will make funding available for the provision of a transposer in Lamanaugh/Kilgardan, County Kerry in order to improve television reception in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2319/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 136, 137 and 138 together.

The provision of transposers to improve television reception is primarily a matter for RTE.

I have been informed by RTE that it intends to install transposers in the three areas mentioned by the Deputy during the course of 1997. It expects significant improvement in television reception in these areas as a result of these installations.
