140 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if the Office of Public Works is in ownership of Inishkeel Island, a 6th century monastic site; if so, if his Department will carry out repairs to the site; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2093/97]

I understand that the 6th century monastic site on Inishkeel Island is not in State ownership and, consequently, the carrying out of works at the site is not a matter for the national monuments and historic properties service of my Department.
