Question:199 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Education the plans, if any, she has to approve a grant towards a sports complex for a school (details supplied) in County Cork. [2264/97]
Written Answers. - Recreational Facilities Scheme.
My Department has received an application for funding from the school concerned under the sports capital programme. School projects are generally not eligible for funding under either the recrational facilities scheme or the major facilities scheme unless the project is being undertaken by the local community in co-operation with the school. The application will be considered in that context, in the event of further funding becoming available this year.
