Vol. 474 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Board Projects.

Michael P. Kitt

Question:

71 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Health the current position regarding the building of a health centre (details supplied) in County Galway; the cost of this project; and when tenders will be advertised and the contract awarded. [2457/97]

Limerick East): As the Deputy is aware, the provision of health centres in the Galway area is a matter for the Western Health Board in the first instance.

I understand from the board that planning permission for a health centre in Abbeyknockmoy has recently been received by the board and approval has been given to proceed to tender. The board is currently preparing tender documents for the project which has an estimated cost of £130,000. While the board will advertise the project shortly it is not possible at this stage to give an exact date as to the award of the contract.
