80 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education the financial implications for the upgrading of Waterford Regional Technical College to the status of Institute of Technology in 1997 and subsequent years; the amounts involved; and when legislation will be brought forward in this regard. [2712/97]
In line with the existing practice, capital and recurrent funding for Waterford will continue to be determined on an annual basis having regard to the college's proposals in its annual programmes and budget submission and the overall funding available. The time scale for necessary regulatory and legislative changes is under consideration.
