Vol. 474 No. 2

Written Answers. - Liquor Licences.

Tony Killeen

Question:

83 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, there are to regularise anomalies in the area of intoxicating liquor licences for certain hotel premises. [2695/97]

Any changes to the liquor licensing arrangements for hotels would require legislation and there are no plans at present to amend the laws in that respect. The Dáil Select Committee on Legislation and Security is, however, currently reviewing the licensing laws and it is accepting submissions from interested parties, all of which will be examined and taken into consideration in its final report.

When the select committee's report has been published, its recommendations will be given detailed consideration in my Department.
