127 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for the Environment the number of public servants in areas falling within the remit of his Department who are currently on career breaks; and the number who have been waiting over two months to return to work. [2964/97]

Minister for the Environment (Mr. Howlin)

A total of 40 officers are currently on career breaks from my Department; no persons are waiting to return to work. Similar information in respect of semi-State bodies and local authorities is not available in my Department.
