I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 265 of 2 April 1996 on this subject.
I am informed that an industry based steering committee has been established with a view to developing a recognised formal farriery training course. I understand that work is well advanced on the compilation of a training programme and I am expecting detailed proposals to be submitted to my Department in the near future.
