Question:282 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Defence if he intends to introduce a new voluntary retirement scheme to members of the Defence Forces in the near future. [2975/97]
Written Answers. - Defence Forces Retirement Scheme.
This year's voluntary early retirement scheme will be launched on the 12 February and, as was the case last year, a comprehensive booklet giving full details of the scheme will again be available. It is proposed to offer VER to 750 personnel. This figure includes 110 personnel who are being granted VER in 1997 having commenced four month's pre-retirement support leave in 1996.
