Question:60 Mr. Ellis asked the Taoiseach if he will make available the census results for each area in Counties Leitrim and Sligo. [2786/97]
Written Answers. - Census Results.
The first results from the 1996 Census of Population were published in a preliminary report published in July 1996. The report contains preliminary results from the census for each province, county, county borough, urban-rural district, district electoral division and ward in the country. The results were derived from summaries returned by each of the 3,400 census enumerators.
I have arranged to have a copy of the report, which is available in the Oireachtas Library, to be sent to the Deputy. The particulars relating to Leitrim and Sligo are contained on pages 73 to 81.
The Central Statistics Office plans to publish the definitive demographic details from the 1996 census in the second half of 1997.
