Liam Lawlor

Question:

114 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education if she will confirm the approval of Blanchardstown Regional Technical College; the total cost of the project, including site acquisition; the date on which construction will commence; and the anticipated time scale for its completion. [3185/97]

In December 1996 I confirmed approval for the provision of a new regional technical college at Blanchardstown to serve the north, north-west and north-east Dublin region as well as growth areas in Meath and Kildare. The total cost of the new regional technical college will not be known until such time as the planning, both educational and architectural, has been completed.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

115 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education whether any further decision has been taken in relation to funding for the newly amalgamated school at Moville, County Donegal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3196/97]

Essential repairs at the newly amalgamated schools in Moville is one of a number of projects still under consideration for funding in the 1997 building programme. My Department will be in contact with the school management as soon as a decision is taken on the matter.

Meanwhile, my Department has arranged for the provision of a double prefabricated classroom at the newly amalgamated schools to alleviate the current accommodation difficulties.

Question:

116 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education whether there is any advance in relation to the granting of funding for an extension at Scoil Colmcille, Malin, County Donegal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3197/97]

A building project at Scoil Colmcille is one of a number of projects still under consideration for funding in the 1997 building programme. My Department will be in contact with the school management as soon as a decision is taken on the matter.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

117 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education the amount of moneys awarded by her Department to County Cavan in 1996 for new schools and school improvements; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3198/97]
