180 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education if she will give urgent sanction to ensure the commencement of the construction of the proposed extension and refurbishment of science laboratories in Ard Scoil Rís secondary school, Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9, following the 1997 budget and in view of the severe overcrowding problems being experienced at the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The funding for the post-primary school capital programme has recently been allocated and the building programme for 1997 has been finalised.

Unfortunately, due to the limited resources available and the large number of projects on hand, it was not found possible to make funding available for the proposed works at Ard Scoil Rís secondary school, Griffith Avenue.

However, these projects will continue to be reviewed in light of available resources and competing priorities.
