Seamus Brennan

Question:

199 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Justice if she will provide the crime statistics and the detection rates for offences involving syringes, guns, knives and other offensive weapons, handbag snatches, muggings and general assaults in the last available 11 month period in areas (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3606/97]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information requested is not readily available in the format sought by the Deputy and could only be obtained by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of garda time and resources.
