Vol. 474 No. 6

Written Answers. - Maintenance Works.

Godfrey Timmins

Question:

46 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for the Marine when repairs will be carried out to the building occupied by the Bonmahon coastal unit of the Irish Marine Emergency Service in view of his reply to Parliamentary Question 44 of 29 May 1996; and if he will ensure that immediate repairs are carried out. [3659/97]

The minor maintenance works to be carried out on the exterior of the building occupied by the Bonmahon coastal unit, County Waterford, of the Irish marine emergency service have been delayed to date due to the difficulty in obtaining suitable quotations from contractors and the retirement of the full-time official with responsibility for the maintenance of the buildings in the area.

My Department has recently accepted a suitable quotation and I assure the Deputy that the repair works will be completed shortly.
