115 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Health the expenditure by his Department on advertisements in national and provincial news papers for each of the past five years. [3728/97]

The increased expenditure in 1996 was primarily due to advertising providing information to persons who had contracted hepatitis C, and also to provision of advice to the general public conerning changes in the requirements regarding notification of marriages, and raising of the minimum age for marriage, following the Family Law Act 1995.
