42 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht whether it is proposed to establish a national music board in view of the proposals made by IBEC's music industry group and FORTE's consideration of the matter; the remit of such a board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy will be aware that I commissioned the music task force, FORTE, and that I formally launched its report last December. That report, and the earlier report compiled by the IBEC music industry group, both recommended the establishment of a specially designated music board to promote the development of the indigenous music industry. I am still considering this recommendation and indeed the other recommendations contained in the FORTE report.
