Vol. 475 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Library.

Ivor Callely

Question:

60 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the progress of the negotiations for the National Library's proposed new premises at Temple Bar, Dublin 2; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4758/97]

I refer the Deputy to my response to Question No. 9 on 19 December last on this issue. The present situation regarding negotiations for the National Library's proposed new Photographic Archive premises in Temple Bar is substantially similar to that outlined at that time. Discussions on the finalisation of the lease agreement are progressing with a view to an early agreement on the occupancy. As stated in my earlier reply, the National Library will then begin its phased taking over of the premises.
