77 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht when the Broadcasting Bill will be brought before Dáil Éireann; and if he will confirm his intention to repeal section 31 of the Broadcasting Authority Act. [4825/97]
78 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he will address concerns regarding the plans, if any, he has to reduce the news and current affairs requirements currently stipulated for the commercial local radio sector. [4826/97]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 77 and 78 together.
I refer the Deputy to my reply to today's Priority Question No. 2 in which I stated that I have now brought my legislative proposals to Government. I am seeking Government approval to have these proposals published and I hope that the Government will consider them shortly.
