Vol. 475 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Noel Dempsey

Question:

83 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the number of group water schemes on a county basis; and if he will distinguish between those privately and publicly owned. [4772/97]

The number of grant-aided group water schemes completed in each county since 1963 is set out in the following table. Information is not available in my Department on the number of these schemes that may have been taken over by local authorities or on the numbers that are now publicly and privately sourced.

Question:

84 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide funding as per circular letter L1/97 for the provision of a sewerage scheme at Lurganboy, County Leitrim, which application has been with his Department for some time. [4773/97]

Contract documents for the Lurganboy sewerage scheme have been submitted to my Department. However, given the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage scheme programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance this scheme.
