Vol. 475 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

265 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the position regarding an area aid application for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal whose application has been lost by his Department; when this matter will be rectified; and when payment will be made. [4958/97]

My Department received an area aid application from the person named on 15 May 1996 and it has not been lost or mislaid since then. He was paid £2,580.23 suckler cow premium on 11 November 1996, £670 sheep headage on 12 November 1996, £2,214 cattle headage on 12 December 1996 and £72.13 special beef premium on 18 February 1997 — this special beef premium payment was made on foot of an application received in November 1996. Suckler cow and special beef premium balancing payments will be made between now and the end of March in accordance with the targets set out in the charter of rights for farmers.
