Vol. 475 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cruelty to Animals.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

9 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Justice in view of her reply of 25 July 1996, that no centralised computer database exists of persons convicted of animal cruelty offences, if she will consider establishing a database in order that the work of animal welfare organisations could be assisted by having up to date information available. [5473/97]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that they have no plans to establish a computer database relating to animal cruelty offences.
