Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

246 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment will be made under the REP scheme to persons (details supplied) in County Galway. [5958/97]

The application for payment for the persons concerned has been approved and payment will issue shortly.

Declan Bree

Question:

247 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his Department has retained the files of the Land Commission relating to the former Rockingham Estate, County Roscommon; if so, if the files confirm that a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon has retained the right of turbary on 2.5 acres of bog in the townland of Errironagh; if the files further confirm that this person paid an annual bog rent to the commission of ten shillings per annum; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5977/97]

My Department has retained the Land Commission files relating to the estate of Rockingham, Record Number S21650 County Roscommon. The files have been examined and there is no mention of an allotment of a turbary right in the townland of Errironagh to the person in question. From the reference number quoted, it would appear the individual concerned may have had a seasonal bog letting about 30 years ago. However records of such temporary lettings are no longer retained by my Department.
