On the Engineering side, Office of Public Works had no new project in County Wexford in the 1995/96 period; apart from the statutory obligation for ongoing maintenance works in the Owenavarragh and Ballyteigue/Kilmore Catchment Drainage Schemes which were carried out many years ago under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. The maintenance of the latter scheme involves substantial use of rock armouring on coastal embankments. |
