Question:262 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Defence the number of members of the Defence Forces who have applied for voluntary early retirement; and when decisions will be made in this regard. [6252/97]
Written Answers. - Defence Forces Retirement Scheme.
This year approximately 750 personnel, including 110 who availed of pre-retirement support leave in 1996 of the Defence Forces will leave the Force under the terms of the voluntary early retirement scheme. The latest date for the receipt of applications for VER was Friday, 28 February. Applications are at present being processed.
