72 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the expenditure incurred in the provision of the new water scheme in Trim, County Meath, in 1996. [6394/97]
My Department made payments totalling £1,792,094 to Meath County Council in respect of the Trim water supply scheme in 1996 and a further payment of £990,365 was made in 1997. Payments totalling £214,677 were made in earlier years. The scheme is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by the middle of the year.

My Department made no payments to Meath County Council in respect of the east Meath regional water supply scheme, stage 6 (Ashbourne water) in 1996; it is expected that construction work will commence on the scheme next month. Payments totalling £246,659 were made in earlier years.
74 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for the Environment the expenditure incurred in the provision of the new sewerage scheme in Dunboyne, County Meath, in 1996. [6396/97]
My Department made no payments to Meath County Council in respect of the Dunboyne-Clonee sewerage scheme in 1996. Tenders for the scheme are currently under consideration in my Department.

There is no record in my Department of a proposal for a scheme of this kind.
