Smith asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to the widespread and deep concern in County Cavan and surrounding areas regarding the operation of the Diseases of Animals (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) (Specified Risk Material) Order, 1997 in Monery, County Cavan; and if he has satisfied himself that the facilities in Monery are capable of destroying prions which will inevitably be present in this specific risk material.
