73 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the number of meetings held to date by the inter-Departmental committee on the Report of the Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities; the names of the persons in attendance at each meeting; and whether any Ministers, Ministers of State, programme managers or political advisers will be directly involved in the committee's work. The interdepartmental task force which I established to draw up a plan of action on the rights of people with disablities met on 21 January and 18 February 1997.

The attendance at the meeting of 21 January was as follows: Ms Sylda Langford (Chairperson), Department of Equality and Law Reform; Mr. Pat Wylie, Department of Equality and Law Reform; Mr. Brendán Ó Cathasaigh, Department of Equality and Law Reform; Mr. Declan Purcell, Department of Enterprise and Employment; Mr. Eddie Brannigan, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Philip Kelly, Department of the Taoiseach; Ms Mary McCarthy, Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht; Mr. Michael Harper, Department of Transport, Energy and Communications; Mr. John Haskin, Department of Justice; Ms Fiona O'Dea, Department of Tourism and Trade; Mr. Stephan O'Neill, Department of Finance; Mr. Con Breen, Department of Finance; Mr. Donnacha Ó Muineacháin, Department of the Environment and Mr. John Collins, Department of Health.

The attendance at the meeting on 18 February was: Ms Sylda Langford (Chairperson), Department of Equality and Law Reform; Mr. Pat Wylie, Department of Equality and Law Reform; Mr. Brendán Ó Cathasaigh, Department of Equality and Law Reform; Mr. Eddie Brannigan, Department of Foreign Affairs; Ms Fiona O'Dea, Department of Tourism and Trade; Mr. John Collins, Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht; Ms Josephine O'Connor, Department of Education; Mr. Ronnie Sheehan, Department of Enterprise and Employment; Mr Gerry Wrynn, Department of Enterprise and Employment; Mr. Tony Jordan Department of Finance; Mr. Con Breen, Department of Finance; Mr. Stephen O'Neill, Departmen of Finance; Mr. Michael Harper, Department of Transport, Energy and Communications; Ms Anne Donegan, Office of the Tánaiste; Ms Paula Lyons, Department of Social Welfare and Mr. Donnacha Ó Muineacháin, Department of the Environment.
To date, no Ministers, Ministers of State, programme managers or political advisers have been directly involved in the work of the task force but, should their assistance be required, they can become involved to support the work. Ministers will consider the plan of action on the rights of people with disabilities to be drawn up by the task force prior to its submission to Government.
