Vol. 476 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Brendan Smith

Question:

112 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education the stage of planning of the proposed national school in Ballinagh, County Cavan; when tenders will be invited in respect of this project; when building will commence; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7851/97]

The planning of the proposed national school at Ballinagh is being undertaken by the school's consultant architect. I understand that the tender documents are currently being prepared. When the project is ready for tender, a decision on the timing of the tender process will be taken in the context of available resources. Therefore, I am not in a position at this stage to state when construction will commence.
