275 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in completing a project (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which works will recommence; the nature of the works to be executed; the amount of money allocated in this regard in 1997; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8220/97]
My Department has approved in principle the provision of additional temporary accommodation for the school in question.
However, difficulties have arisen with this project. Officials from my Department have been in regular contact with County Galway Vocational Education Committee in order to ensure that my Department's procedures are being adhered to.
It is expected that this project will progress satisfactorily when my Department's criteria are met.
