287 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education if she will review her second level capital allocation for school buildings in 1997 and approve stage VI of phase IV the Abbey Vocational School in Donegal town; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8313/97]
The funding for the post-primary school capital programme has been allocated and the building programme for 1997 has recently been announced.
The position in relation to the project at Abbey Vocational School, Donegal Town is that Stages 4/5 — detail design and bills of quantities — are currently being examined in the Planning and Building Unit of my Department.
When the architectural planning process has been completed the question of proceeding to construction will be considered in light of available resources and competing priorities.
