Question:

232 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry whether a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is entitled to more headage payments; and if so, when they will be paid. [10452/97]

The person named applied on 85 mountain breeding ewes under the 1996 sheep headage scheme. She was paid her full entitlement of £850 on 4 November 1996 and the 1996 sheep headage top-up of £85 on 13 November 1996.

The person named applied on 85 ewes under the 1996 EU ewe premium scheme. She holds a quota for 71 ewes and was paid in full on this quota. The first instalment of £758.50 was paid on 5 July 1996; the second instalment of £321.68 on 11 November 1996 and the final instalment of £304.37 on 19 February 1997.
The person named applied on seven cows under the 1996 EU suckler cow scheme for non-suppliers of milk. At an inspection carried out on 17 October 1996, six cows were presented. A shortfall penalty of 14.28 per cent was applied to the premium payable on the eligible animals in accordance with clause 27 of the terms and conditions of this scheme. The decision to apply this penalty was upheld by the appeals unit in February 1997. She was paid an advance of £576.99 of her full entitlement under this scheme on 6 February 1997 and the balance of £144.25 was paid on 26 March 1997.
The person named applied on eight animals under the 1996 cattle headage scheme. At the inspection carried out on her herd on 17 October 1996. Seven animals were presented. One animal had been sold prior to the date of application and in accordance with clause 29 of the terms and conditions governing this scheme, a shortfall penalty of 12.5 per cent was applied to the grant payable on the eligible animals. She was paid her full entitlement of £514.50 under this scheme on 30 January 1997.
The person named was paid her full entitlement of £179.20 on eight animals under the 1996 BSE compensation scheme on 8 October 1996.
The person named did no apply under the 1996 special beef premium scheme.
