Question:

126 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the further progress, if any, which has been made in the past few weeks regarding the acquisition of a site for a school (details supplied) in County Cork. [11759/97]

At present, discussions are being held with representative of national schools in Mallow to see if the needs of the school referred to by the Deputy can be met from existing surplus accommodation in the town.

Question:

128 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Education when permission will be granted to Calasanctius College, Oranmore, County Galway to employ a design team to prepare plans for the extension of the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11765/97]

My Department is currently considering the appointment of a design team for Calasanctius College, Oranmore, County Galway. When a decision is reached the school authorities will be informed directly.
