Vol. 478 No. 7

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Michael Creed

Question:

171 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application for an extension to a school (details supplied) in County Cork; if so, if she will appoint a design team immediately for this extension; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12232/97]

The accommodation requirements at the school referred to by the Deputy have been assessed by the building unit of my Department and a schedule of accommodation has been agreed with the board of management. The question of appointing a design team to initiate the architectural planning of the extension is being considered in the context of the Department's other commitments and priorities. A response will issue to the schools' authorities as soon as a decision has been made.
