Vol. 478 No. 7

Written Answers - Farm Investment Schemes.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

239 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his attention has been drawn to a variation in different counties in respect of the level of assistance available to farmers applying for planning permission for farm buildings; the policy, if any, he has on the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12220/97]

In October 1995 my Department introduced revised procedures for the processing of applications for grant aid under the various on-farm investment schemes.

Under these procedures, which apply on a uniform basis throughout the country, applicants are required to submit details of existing and proposed facilities.

My officials are no longer directly involved in the preparation of drawings by applicants, whether or not planning permission is required.
