Vol. 478 No. 7

Written Answers - Nursing Units.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

71 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Health if funding will be provided in 1997 for the Killybegs nursing unit, County Donegal; and the current situation in relation to the project. [12100/97]

Limerick East): In response to previous questions raised in the House on this issue, I stated that the North-Western Health Board has submitted the documentation relevant to stage 3 of the planning process for this project to my Department, and this submission is currently being considered. The intention is to allow the project to proceed through the remaining stages of planning and on to construction as soon as possible. I am providing £200,000 capital funding to the North-Western Health Board this year to permit the remaining stages of planning of the proposed 40 bed nursing unit and day hospital at Killybegs to be completed.
