The basic information sought by the Deputy is available in the 1997 edition of the Revised Estimates for Public Services. In addition a sum of £5.95 million in non-voted funds will be expanded on the cultural development incentives scheme. Interreg Funding expenditure in 1997 is expected to amount to £200,000 on projects already approved. Additional funds of the order to £6.025 million in the current year are provided for in the Vote of the Office of Public Works for the provision of capital works in the cultural institutions such as the National Museum, the National Library, the National Gallery, the National Archives, the National Concert Hall, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Chester Beatty Library. Included in this sum is £2.825 million in co-financed Structural Funds in respect of projects being undertaken under the aegis of the Operational Programme for Tourism 1994-99 by my Department. In addition the Office of Public Works finance an ongoing general programme of maintenance works in these institutions.
